Camping with Our Aussiedoodle

We’re not avid campers but we do go a few times a year, so we were excited to bring our new puppy Ranger along for his very first camping trip.

Here he is in his mosquito repellant bandana:

Wasn’t he the cutest? I can’t even believe he was this cute. He handled the great outdoors pretty well, mainly chewing on sticks and sleeping. We went on an easy hike that led to a shallow stream.

Here is having his first real experience with water. He did not care for it.

He did like sitting in our camp chair at the campsite.

But my favorite part was sleeping in the tent with Ranger. He was so good his first night camping! He went to the edge of the tent by our feet, curled up, and slept soundly the whole night. In the morning he army crawled up between my husband and I and just stared at us.

He wasn’t completely potty trained yet, so I had to get up in the middle of the night to let him out of the tent to go pee. He was a perfect little peeing puppy angel – no accidents.

Here’s a really blurry photo of him inside the tent:

We haven’t had a chance to take Grizzly on his first camping trip yet – we actually picked him up from the breeder on our way back from a camping trip on Orcas Island. It’s too cold now for us fair weather campers but we’ll be sure to take them both out camping this summer. We’re going to need a bigger tent!
