Dog Toy Review: Zippy Paws Burrow Squeaky Hide & Seek Plush Dog Toy

I’ve seen this “burrow” style of toy in a lot of different places and variations. It’s not the most inexpensive dog toy out there so I decided to buy the smallest, least expensive version I could find: Zippy Paws Burrow Squeaky Hide and Seek Plush Dog Toy – the hedgehog den option.

The toy is a plush “den” with two large holes cut out of it and three small hedgehog stuffed toys with squeakers inside. The purpose of the dog toy is to activate their desire to burrow, so the dogs stick their snouts inside the holes to pull out the hedgehogs. After that they can play with the empty burrow or run around squeaking the hedgehogs to death in their mouths. My dogs did both of these things.

They always get very excited when there is a new toy and fight horribly over it. This one was a little better than most because it had multiple pieces for the both to play with. They still fought over it, though, as you can seen in a few of the photos below.

The dogs clearly love the toy, but I had to take the burrow away from Grizzly as he had pretty quickly ripped part of it apart. It’s not a great toy if your dogs are big chewer/rippers, it doesn’t hold up long at all. But other than that a great toy!

Here’s a video of the playing with it and Ranger getting frustrated that Grizzly is hogging it:
