Now I do not claim to be good at sewing. I am not. But I still like to make little things now and then – I just accept the fact that they aren’t going to be perfect.
I had some fabric left over from when I reupholstered some window pieces in our trailer and thought it would be cute to make little dog bandanas out of it.
First (using a dog bandana I already have as a size/shape template) I cut out a triangle from the fabric.
Second I folded over the rough edges and ironed them flat.
Third I sewed the flat edges down.
And that’s it! It took me about five minutes to make each dog bandana. I’m not claiming they are perfect or that my hemming is even remotely even, but I think they do the job anyway.
This is what it looks like done (back side):

See? When it’s on the dog you can’t even tell I did a messy sewing job. This is a nice easy project for people who don’t have great sewing skills (you do need a sewing machine, though). It’s also a good chance to practice hemming, if you need practice.
Word of warning: don’t leave your (still hot) iron right next to your sewing machine. This might happen:

Ouch. There goes my hand modeling career.
