When we first brought home Ranger one of my friends bought us a Bark Box. We thought it was a fun concept so we enrolled in a six-month bark box membership. We eventually cancelled it because Ranger wasn’t that interested in toys and the toys they sent were all bulky stuffed toys. Eventually we added Grizzly to the family and he quickly destroyed the cache of stuffed toys we had accumulated. We replaced them with stuffing-less toys (these ones from ZippyPaws, to be exact) so he could enjoy tearing them up without fluff ending up all over the house.
Then recently I was shown an ad on Facebook for a “Super Chewer” Bark Box, and Grizzly definitely fit that category. I thought I would give it a try.
I won’t go through every BarkBox we’ve received, but I will show you two of them so you get an idea what they include.
Our first Super Chewer Bark Box was Shakespeare-themed. It included two bags of treats, two jerky-type chews, and two rubber toys.

It also came with a little collar costume piece which we promptly put on Grizzly, much to Ranger’s dismay:

The ham-shaped toy got a lot of love at first since we could stuff treats inside of it. But then Grizzly chewed off all the little flaps holding the treats inside so we haven’t been using it much since then. The skull toy was mostly ignored, we pull it out now and then to see if they are interested but alas, no.
October’s Super Chewer Bark Box was pretty disappointing. I had expected a Halloween-themed one, and it really wasn’t. Just pretty standard dog treats and two rubber toys.

The boys both really liked the “Brumpy” chew ring, fighting over it incessantly. Here Ranger has claimed it, but Grizzly had it for awhile before he finally stole it from him:

The sad “Puckle” was left ignored. It has shallow indentations on one side that is supposed to be for treats but the dents are so shallow no treat will stay in there even for a second. I can try putting some peanut butter in the dents and freezing it, maybe they’ll be interested in it then. For now, it’s not a winner.

While the boxes are fun to receive in the mail, it’s not really necessary to get one every month. I do recommend a Bark Box (Super Chewer or normal version) as a great gift for someone who just got a new dog. It’s a great way to welcome the new addition the family and your friend/family member/coworker/whoever really happy to receive it.
