Golden Gardens Off-Leash Dog Park

We don’t often make it up to North Seattle but it was a really beautiful day and I wanted to check out the Golden Gardens Off-Leash Dog Park. I’ve been to Golden Gardens before but not am not a frequent visitor – in the summer it’s usually really packed and parking is nearly impossible to find. But on this early spring weekday we had no trouble finding parking in the little lot next to the dog park.

The park is about one acre and sits on a slight slope. There are peek-a-boo views of the Puget Sound (gorgeous!) and trees scattered throughout the park. There are a few benches and and a covered picnic table as well for humans to use.

At the top of the dog park is a separate fenced area for small and timid dogs. Not all dog parks offer separate areas for small dogs so it’s always nice to visit one that does (even if my dogs never use it).

The park also has a little area with some dog agility tools. Very few dog parks have things like these so it was really fun to do a little agility work with them while we were here. Ranger was too distracted by everything going on but Grizzly was into it (see poorly shot video below).

He did a lot better until I tried to film him doing it, of course!

The dog park also has two watering holes for the dogs – always a necessity!

There is a restroom just outside the dog park which is pretty rare for dog parks and much appreciated! There are also lots of little trails you can walk with your dog if you (or the pups) get bored of the park. You can see the Puget Sound from these trails, too!

Golden Gardens Off-Leash Dog Park is a great little park, if it was closer to our house we’d go much more often!
