For the fourth day of birthday week I decided to take a break from the treats and get them a birthday-themed toy! I got this Frisco Plush Birthday Cake Slice with Squeaker Dog Toy on Chewy for $6.48. Now I know Grizzly is a plush dog toy destroyer – I doubt this thing will last even a full day in his clutches – but I’m sure they will both have fun with it while it lasts.
Both dogs were immediately obsessed with this birthday cake slice dog toy. It’s a good one – the candle offers something to try and tear off, it has a squeaker inside, and it has the crinkly material that makes a sound like a plastic bag being squished up. These three things are what are included in all of Grizzly’s favorite toys.
Grizzly immediately laid claim to the toy – I had to tear it away from him in order to give Ranger a turn with it. He promptly stole it back from Ranger, though. It took him nine minutes to tear the toy open and get the squeaker, the crinkle plastic sheet, and some of the stuffing out.

Once Grizzly rips a toy open and spills out its insides he loses interest in the toy. Ranger was enjoying chewing on the squeaker until I took it away from him.
I don’t usually buy Grizzly stuffed dog toys because this is what happens to them. I’ll take the rest of the stuffing out of the toy and try to re-engage them with it as a stuffing-less toy.
If you want more than one birthday cake slice dog toy, BarkBox sells this Major Rager Party Cake for $36 – it includes seven separate birthday cake slice dog toys.
