Best Dog Parks in Tucson, Arizona

Whenever we travel with the dogs we have to visit the local dog parks. The dogs need some off-leash time after spending so much time in the car or hanging around the house. Tucson has a good selection of dog parks scattered across the city, and while we weren’t able to visit all of them we did get to visit a few.

Best Tucson Dog Park We Visited: Smiling Dog Ranch Dog Park (Southern Catalina Foothills)

This dog park was really big and had a lot of fun elements to it like concrete tubes, steps, trees, and watering area. We went around 5:30pm and there were lots of nice dogs there and ample parking. We didn’t have time to explore the area that much but it looks like it’s close to the river.

And if you were wondering, we were able to get Grizzly to go through it but not Ranger.

McDonald Park Dog Park

We actually came to this dog park on accident – we were planning on eating lunch and walking around but when we arrived we realized the park had a dog park inside of it! It’s split into two areas – small dogs on one side and big dogs on the other. The small dog area was as you might imagine, small, and the big dog area was larger. Water was available in both sections as were benches. It was an okay dog park, nothing special but definitely a nice surprise.

North Sixth Avenue Dog Park

This Tucson dog park is on the smaller side with not much to offer. It’s covered in gravel and only offers a couple sun-covered areas. We didn’t stay very long here, but the dogs enjoyed roaming around.

Miko’s Corner Playground Dog Park

This large dog park is part of a much bigger park, so there’s lots to do here. It’s very nice with sidewalks, water stations, and shady areas throughout.
