Best Dog Beds: Molly Mutt Dog Bed Covers

When Ranger was a puppy I bought him his first dog bed from Molly Mutt and liked it so much I bought a second one for Grizzly when we got him.

Pros:

• Really durable fabric. We’ve had both beds for years now and they have held up really well.
• Easy to throw in the washing machine to clean.
• Comes in a variety of sizes and patterns.
• Can fill with anything you want to.

I tried a few different filler types – old clothes, blankets, chunks of foam cut up from an old mattress pad we no longer used. I had issues when it came to washing – when my dogs get sick and puke they always ALWAYS do it on their dog beds. The vomit would sink through the cover and onto whatever the filling was inside, making it less than ideal.

Then I bought the Pethiy Waterproof Liner and this solved that problem. Now I stuff these liners with whatever – right now it’s combination of foam and old clothes – and when the dogs get sick on the bed covers they are easy to remove and wash and put back. The sick sinks through the cover but not the waterproof liner, so I just clean the liners with a wet wipe and let it dry before putting the cover back on. It’s really easy.

I now own four of these Molly Mutt covers, two backups for when the others are being washed. I have the rectangle-shaped ones in medium/large for my ~40 pound aussiedoodles. They also sell them in a round shape for round dog beds and other sizes from petite to huge.

Molly Mutt also sells crate covers, car seat covers, couch covers, and more. I recently bought one of their forever young couch covers for our large recliner sofa (and two matching dog bed covers). They have a bunch of cute designs but I picked this one as I thought it’d hide stains the best.

The beds aren’t usually in front of the couch like that so the design is spread around the room and not in one big block like this. The couch cover is the best I’ve used, it has a weighted backing and other features that holds the cover onto the couch better than other covers I’ve tried.
